The McLaughlins dominated the score board on Saturday last in the ACS Controls sponsored Ladies and Gents Open Singles Stableford at Greencastle.  Clan honours went to Seamus with a great score of 42 points from Paddy Monagle in second place a further two points adrift.  It also took 42 points to win the Ladies event with Isobel McCafferty taking top spot.  Full results were as follows:

Sunday Morning Society stalwart Frank Kelly was the winner of the Gents Open Singles Stableford on Sunday.  The slightly calmer morning conditions helped Frank to a break-of-tie win over the fast-improving Peter Fallon who, in turn, had two points to spare over Geoffrey Doherty in third spot.  Full results were:

Next weekend begins on Friday with the Jimmy Bruen play-off between Ballyliffin and NorthWest at 5.30pm.  The fixture card shows the Past Captains and Presidents Day on the same day but this has been postponed until Friday 26th May.

 

On Saturday 20th a Ladies and Gents Open Singles Stableford will be held and Sunday’s competition is a Gents Open Singles Stableford.  Also on Sunday 21st May Philip Devlin takes his Mixed Foursomes team to the qualifying event in Roe Park.

 

Greencastle members are asked to note that a Child Safeguarding Workshop will be held in the clubhouse on Tuesday 23rd May at 6.30pm hosted by Rory Leonard from the Confederation of Golf in Ireland.  The club is organising the event in preparation for the Children’s Tuesday League to run in July and August.
