Competition Results – 20/02/2017
Feargal Carlin secured his maiden victory at Greencastle on Saturday last with a magnificent 35 points over the 15-hole layout. Despite his brilliant score Feargal’s win was by the narrowest of margins as Paul O’Doherty pursued him all the way only to lose out on break of tie. Third place went to the ultra-consistent Paul McCole while Brendan Deehan and Jason McLaughlin took the minor prizes. Full results were as follows:
Gents 15 Holes Singles Stableford, Saturday 18 February
1st Feargal Carlin (27) 35;
2nd Paul O’Doherty (7) 35;
3rd Paul McCole (7) 33;
Gross Jason McLaughlin (5) 26;
4th Brendan Deehan (17) 33.
Niall McCourt shot the lights out on Sunday with a level-par round which yielded 38 points and a winning margin of 4 over Charlie Glenn in second place. Three birdies in the first seven holes meant that Niall could afford a nasty double-bogey on the Lighthouse and a bogey on the last. George Hegarty won the multiple break-of-tie for third prize while Neil Guckian stole in for another Gross and Shaun McDaid took fourth spot. Full results were:
Gents 15 Holes Singles Stableford, Sunday 19 February

2nd Charlie Glenn (10) 34;
3rd George Hegarty (21) 33;
