It begins with the TOTAL GOLF ladies and gents open stableford on Saturday, followed by the Kellys Eurospar singles stroke on Sunday. Monday and Tuesday’s competitions are gents singles stableford events sponsored by the club Convenors and Moville Tool Hire respectively. Wednesday sees local firm GILLENS SUPERMARKET sponsor the fourball betterball, and already there are very few remaining places for this competition. Timesheets are in operation every day, and places can be reserved by contacting the club (0749381013). Also on Saturday, the clubs Donegal League team travel to Gweedore for the return leg. Having won three of the five points available in the home leg, there is still everything to play for. The clubs Ulster Cup team have progressed to the third round for the first time in several years, and now meet Lisburn.  Now that the season is well under way, the major competitions are looming. First up will be Seamus Doherty’s Presidents Day on 16th June. The timesheet will be posted shortly. There is no requirement on cards for this competition.

Lady Captains Day

All ladies interested in playing in Betty Gallagher’s Lady Captains day should remember that they must have played in three Thursday competitions.

Annual Subscriptions

Rule 19 b) A member whose subscription is unpaid by 1st May shall not be eligible to compete in any club competition.

Greens

Rakes In Bunkers / Rakes Outside Bunkers?

There are no rules regarding where to leave rakes for bunkers. There are recommendations provided by the R & A, but it is for each club to decide as they wish, depending on their own situations. Our greens committee have decided that rakes should be returned to and left in the bunker after you have played your shot.

Competitions

Chip – In and Win

The club is running a prize draw and it is somewhat suitable titled Chip – In and Win. Posters are erected in the clubhouse, and here is the summary of what it entails. There are three major prizes of five, three and one years membership of the club. There will be a further 10 prizes of €100, which equates to getting your money back. The draw will take place on the night of the Captains Drive In 2013. All participants must have contributed €100 to be in the draw, and this amount can be paid up using the envelopes specially printed up for the draw.   The prizes are transferable, and there is no cash alternative for the three winners of the main prizes.   Life Membership of the club is still available for those interested. Each quotation is unique to the individual concerned. If you are interested, please contact the honorary secretary Danny Lynch.
